ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Born in Canada, Naydene studied at the OCAD University in Toronto and Florence, Italy where she graduated with honors in the figurative discipline.
 
Her work reflects a search for reconciliation between apparent contradictions such as creation and destruction, sexuality and spirituality, light and dark and accidental and intentional. Naydene’s technical process reflects the dichotomies that she explores, such as creation and destruction.
  
“I create my pieces in a process that involves layering, collaging, glazing and painting elements together. I then “destroy” certain parts of the image by stripping away some of the layers to reveal the contradicting techniques. I work with a blend of beeswax and oil paint, known as encaustic, which gives a beautiful texture and depth of color to my work.”
  
Naydene’s current paintings draw the viewer in with an unnerving attraction. She captures her subjects with an agitated sensitivity that exposes her command of the medium, unique color sense and expressive quality. Naydene has had many solo and group exhibitions and her work has won numerous awards. She lives on the island of Antigua in the Caribbean.

The Rhythm of Blue Art Gallery is the show room for Antiguan born artist Nancy Nicholson who digs the clay for her distinctive one of a kind pottery here on the island. Nancy’s interest in pottery and art first began when she spent her early years scouring the hills of Antigua with her father, Desmond Nicholson, looking for archaeological finds that dated back to the indigenous Arawak Amerindians.
 
Following a pottery apprenticeship in Vermont, in 1984 Nancy loaded a schooner with bricks to build a kiln and set sail for home where she has been producing functional and decorative one off pieces. After 25 years of making pottery, she still digs her clay on island. Her pottery, with its signature blue glazes inspired by the Caribbean Sea, has found its way into homes all across the globe.
 
Alongside Nancy's electric blue pottery on display  you will find a fine selection of original oil paintings including Bruce Smith’s whimsical Caribbean art featuring  rum shops and local village scenes, a vibrant show of Naydene Gonella's rich textured oil canvases, watercolours by David Cadogen and Nicola Dixon, copper sculptures by Aragorn a selection of wonderful cards and prints and a stunning collection of handmade silver and gold jewellery incorporating natural pearls, carved fossils and selected gem stones.
 
You will be welcomed to this exciting and vibrant creative experience by Jazmiry and if you are interested in meeting any of the artists in person we welcome making that opportunity happen. Nancy's pottery studio is open by appointment if you are interested in seeing the hands on process.

The club was founded with the belief that no goal is unattainable through collective effort, This serves as a pillar for our objectives and tenets.
 
We seek to utilize cycling as a medium to foster camaraderie and purpose. This cycling club is like no other; we are intent on making cycling a lifestyle for our mem-bers. The fringe benefits include social re-investment, improved health, and physical conditioning.
 
Although cycling is at the forefront of what we do, the club also participates in other forms of recreation and sports that complement cycling; tinman, triathlon and duathalon to name a few.

Developing my career from my initial training as Yoga Teacher, I have been able to work from the core of bodies to build a deep understanding of individuals both inside and out.
I strive to work with clients on a level specific to them irrespective of their experience, age, injuries, and/or abilities.
Whether developing mass, training for an athletic event, generally building confidence in your body, improving your cardiovascular fitness, seeking fun and variation in your training or just simply wanting to explore your body through Yoga and Massage is your goal.
 
I find huge enjoyment in supporting you in finding and achieving your potential through the careful blend of nutrition and both physical and mental training that reflects your individuality.
