David Cadogan is an English artist who has made his name as one of the Caribbbean's leading watercolour painters. He has worked as a professional artist for more than twenty years, and for much of that time has combined his artistic talents with those of a successful yacht captain. He has skippered large sailing yachts in the Caribbean, US and Mediterranean , and his log of over 100,000 sea miles includes a three year round the world voyage.
He first sailed himself out to the West Indies in 1980 after an earlier marketing and advertising career in the UK . The people and places of the Windward and Leeward islands provided wonderful material for his fresh, lively paintings and the charter skippers work soon started appearing in private collections around the world as well as galleries and exhibitions in the islands themselves.
David has now given up full time sailing in order to concentrate on his painting and it is not surprising that much of his work is to do with the sea and the beauty of sail. His studio is in English Harbour , Antigua and he exhibits there and in several galleries both on the island and in England .
David is delighted to undertake private commissions, working from photographs or brochures if necessary. If you would like to discuss a project, do please get in direct contact with David by telephone or through the enquiry form on this website.

Dina was born in Parma Italy in 1971, and at age of 10, her father gave her a set of oil paints on the understanding that it would remain a hobby, but in reality it became her life's passion and her chosen profession.
Dina studied at the Artistic Lyceum in Bologna, the Institute of Decorative Arts in Paris, and The Charles Cecil Studio in Florence. Her ability to work with large canvases, has proven very successful and useful when working on "Trompe LOeil" Murals, for private residences and hotel clients.
Working in Europe, and the US, Dina's art is reaching a global marketplace, however in the last seven years, she has decided to follow her true passion, and concentrate mainly on non commission "Genre" paintings.
In 2007, she had a sold out exhibition, of independent paintings at Harmony Hall in Antigua, and like Dina says, "the commission work is wonderful, as one is always grateful to paint for a patron, but the urge has always been with me to concentrate my painting on ideas of current social issues, and this can only be achieved by independent means."
To concentrate on non commission paintings, Dina has settled more in The West Indies, and divides her time between the Caribbean Island of Antigua, (where she has her studio and gallery) to Europe and the USA.
Following the success of the 2007 Exhibition "Great Ladies", Dina is now preparing for another solo exhibition in 2011. The paintings will address contemporary topics, with such subject matter as, Religion, sexuality and consumerism, also exploring some aspects of mother daughter relationships.
As Dina says, "The Great ladies" series, touched on idea's, exploring the relationship women have with their bodies, and the way they interact with a society so absurdly obsessed with unattainable thin bodies, and forever young flawless faces, (like the ones constantly bombarding us in magazines) that in the next exhibition, Dina will pick up from that conversation and try to go deeper exploring other types of illusions, mind fixations and poisonous thoughts, which take us away from our true nature, and real happiness.

The biography of Antiguan artist Gilly Gobinet describes her journey from birth to the present day.
She grew up in England, where she was born. Although excelling in art at an early age, her mother advised her to get a “proper” career, as the ability to paint would never leave her. Thus Gilly gained a BSc Hons. Degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Sussex, after which she worked on the editorial side in a veterinary laboratory, as a ghost writer for a professor of epidemiology & social medicine in a London teaching hospital, and finally as an international civil servant in Strasbourg, France, in the fields of nature conservation and public health.
A happy coincidence found her on vacation in Antigua where her husband was offered a job. Delighted with the prospect of a challenge rather than enduring bureaucracy, she dropped everything and moved there in 1984, seizing the opportunity of fulfilling her childhood dream of painting full time.
Whilst bringing up her three young children, she slowly developed her painting techniques, mainly in watercolour and acrylic. Her subjects reflect the beauty and charm of the enchanted island of Antigua and to this day, inspiration is never lacking.
She is happiest when painting and ever joyful when others take equal pleasure in her art. She has given various shows around the Caribbean and in Venezuela and has exhibited in galleries on different islands. At present she runs her own Art Gallery at her lovely secluded waterfront residence at Fitches Creek, on Antigua’s east coast (near VC Bird International Airport) where she also has her studio. Visitors are welcome and may call in advance at +1(268)464 6084 or email Gilly at gillygobinet@me.com for information on opening times and how to get there. The route is well sign-posted from Pigotts Village onwards and the Art Gallery is just north of the lovely old protestant church of St. George’s.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Born in Canada, Naydene studied at the OCAD University in Toronto and Florence, Italy where she graduated with honors in the figurative discipline.
Her work reflects a search for reconciliation between apparent contradictions such as creation and destruction, sexuality and spirituality, light and dark and accidental and intentional. Naydene’s technical process reflects the dichotomies that she explores, such as creation and destruction.
“I create my pieces in a process that involves layering, collaging, glazing and painting elements together. I then “destroy” certain parts of the image by stripping away some of the layers to reveal the contradicting techniques. I work with a blend of beeswax and oil paint, known as encaustic, which gives a beautiful texture and depth of color to my work.”
Naydene’s current paintings draw the viewer in with an unnerving attraction. She captures her subjects with an agitated sensitivity that exposes her command of the medium, unique color sense and expressive quality. Naydene has had many solo and group exhibitions and her work has won numerous awards. She lives on the island of Antigua in the Caribbean.
